Position Summary

To support operations of Building Services, Facilities Management, and Fraternity/Sorority Chapters by performing light maintenance and supplementing Custodial/Maintenance staff in maintaining all aspects the upkeep and cleanliness of the interior/exterior of the Fraternity and Sorority Housing area in order to ensure a clean and well maintained environment for residents, chapters, and the college.

Required Qualifications

1. Computer skills – email, spreadsheets
2. Able to use tools and equipment for light maintenance and custodial functions; including both manual and powered equipment
3. Ability to process ordering and receiving materials, inventory control
4. Ability to work well with students and staff
5. Ability to operate a vehicle such as a golf cart or van
6. Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks and meet scheduled deadlines
7. Must be able to take initiative in identify problems/challenges, and take immediate corrective action.
8. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs and ladders and lift objects up to 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

1. High School graduate or equivalent preferred
2. Previous experience in general maintenance practices preferred
3. Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions as well as departmental policies and procedures
4. Experience in scheduling tasks and customer service

Conditions of Employment:

Work schedule Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. During peak workloads the incumbent will be subject to work a flexible schedule to include evenings as part of the regular schedule. This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the College is officially closed, and is subject to overtime. May be required to work shift work on weekends or overtime
