Position Summary

This position will assist the Chief Diversity Officer with organization, structure, follow-up, delegation, and scheduling. The position is also responsible for managing office budget and one endowment fund; regular fiscal matters include travel, programmatic, regular ongoing office bills and related items.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Experience providing a variety of administrative support;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) and e-mail programs such as Outlook;
• Experience with website development and maintenance;
• Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills and excellent customer service skills;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with a diverse constituency and adapt to an ever-changing environment;

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of software and hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance preferred i.e. computers, printers, scanners, phones, etc.
• Prior experience working in an educational environment.

Conditions of Employment:

Occasional evening and weekend work required, i. e. programs, workshops, seminars.

All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year.

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
