Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at William & Mary seeks applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in Personality Psychology.
We are interested in individuals with research and teaching expertise in personality theory and research. Additional expertise in statistic courses and introductory psychology would be desirable.
The candidate is expected to maintain a productive research program that inspires exceptional undergraduate and pre-doctoral master’s students and that has the potential to yield external funding. Teaching expectation is 2 courses per semester. Successful applicants must possess the skills to teach courses in personality, statistics, introductory psychology and other lecture and seminar-style courses.
Located in historic Williamsburg, Virginia and close to metropolitan areas such as Richmond and Virginia Beach, William & Mary consistently ranks among the top ten public universities nationally.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology at the time of appointment, effective August 10, 2018, and must have strong quantitative skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those with a Ph.D. at the time of application. W&M is especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and mentorship of students, to the diversity of the academic community. Applicants should have experience in teaching and in mentoring student research.
