Position Summary

This position provides a full range of media production, post-production, and delivery services to University Advancement to meet major goals. Priority is given to high-level video projects that communicate the university’s vision, priorities and achievements.

This position reports directly to the Director of Video & Multimedia Production. Internal relationships include all units within the University Advancement structure and units functioning within Strategic Initiatives, specifically the offices of Creative Services and University Relations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience


  • Exceptional knowledge of videography principles and the creative process.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and concepts including work on cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of various Web tools and communication protocols including social media and online communities.
  • Knowledge of trends in video production and web multimedia.
  • Experience shooting video; competence in visual composition and solid operating skills with a variety of audio and video equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, consulting, interpersonal, and communication skills, with evidence of on-going professional development and commitment to excellence in a team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, effective presentation skills and superb analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Artistic and strong story-telling skills.
  • The ability to video a variety of subjects, scenes and events to support various communication mediums; demonstrated skills in field recording, audio and video editing.
  • Ability to offer creative perspectives on videography planned for news stories, publications and websites.
  • Strong computer skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition) and digital asset management tools.
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment and collaborate with clients, vendors and management.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and diverse work environment.


  • Progressive professional experience in videography or related field as well as a portfolio that demonstrates very strong creative proficiency.
  • Previous experience serving as a team project manager.
  • Experience with project development from inception to completion required; ability to lead project teams using an understanding of project scope, feasibility, budget, timelines, milestones and dependencies.
  • Previous experience in storyboarding, videography, audio production and post-production, producing, directing, computer graphics and computer video-editing for the production of high-quality video projects.
  • Experience using current broadcast-quality video production equipment including cameras, video recorders, editors, lighting instruments and sound recording equipment.
  • Experience in computer-based media technologies and multimedia/graphics software.
Preferred Qualifications


  • Script writing
  • Livestreaming


  • Experience working in a college or university setting highly preferred.
  • Experience in scriptwriting, live streaming with demonstrated ability to navigate the unique challenges it presents.

Conditions of Employment:
  • This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. There is an occasional need for over time work outside of typical business hours.
  • Some projects and publications are tied to the academic calendar and campus events and require work on evenings and weekends.
