Position Summary

Maintain the Institute’s grounds through general groundskeeping, and execute the required Essential Personnel duties. Assists with social function set-ups and moving furniture and equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time of employment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate commercial-type mowers, tractors, and power tools.
  • Ability to safely and frequently move and handle heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to climb and work from elevated work stations, including ladders.
  • Ability to work for long periods of time standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and pushing/pulling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively within a team setting, and be able to understand, comprehend and follow directions in the workplace.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • May be required to work additional hours/shifts on short notice, to meet the needs of the department.
  • The ability to collaborate with other members of the grounds team in setting up for social functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience in moving furniture and equipment.
  • General/manual labor related experience.
  • Previous experience in grounds care in an institutional or commercial setting.
  • Experience using and maintaining commercial riding mowers, tractors, small power and hand tools.
Advertised Pay Range Up to $10.20/hour – Commensurate with Experience

Conditions of Employment:

Limited to 29 hours weekly. The normal work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department and will require reporting to work when the college is officially closed.
