Position Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance (including preventative maintenance), installation, operation, and repair of all campus plumbing systems and to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all systems. Maintain and repair utility services, building plumbing and saltwater systems as well as the renovations of existing facilities and construction of new facilities

Required Qualifications

Education and Licenses:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Master Plumber License or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months.


  • Experience with the mechanical and electro-mechanical operation and repair characteristics of various kinds of plumbing equipment.
  • Ability to learn the practices, methods, and materials commonly used in the repair and servicing of various types of commercial plumbing equipment.
  • Must be familiar with plumbing and building codes
  • Ability to learn the care and use of tools and equipment essential for the repair of plumbing equipment.
  • Must be able to learn how to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to evaluate work by others for completeness and conformance with contracted scope of work and Institute standards
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and from heights including working from ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, peers and customers and have strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstrated proficiency with basic MS office programs.

Conditions of Employment:

Incumbent will be required to participate in the Facilities Management “on-call” program. This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the Department, will require reporting to work when the College is officially closed, and is subject to overtime as needed.
