Position Summary

The Area Director is responsible for the management and daily operations of a multi-facility area housing 530-775 residents and supervision of 17-28 student staff members including Resident Assistants, Head Residents, and/or a graduate Hall Director/Complex Director. Other responsibilities include community and leadership development, staff selection and training, crisis intervention, assessment, student conduct, coordination of facilities operations, and rotating weekend on-call duty for the campus.
Professional development is encouraged and supported. Opportunities include, but are not limited to, participation on division-wide committees, advising student groups, conferences, and tuition remittance.
This 12 month live-in professional position includes a furnished office with updated technology, smart phone, university benefits package (including life insurance, health insurance and retirement), furnished apartment (including utilities, air conditioning, washer/dryer, campus cable, local phone, high-speed wireless internet), reserved parking (with the purchase of a campus parking pass), Center for Community Development, library, and recreation center privileges. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications

Masters Degree required by time the appointment begins

Preferred Qualifications

Residence life and hall supervisory experience preferred.
