Position Summary

To provide support in the purchasing, maintenance, issuance, fitting and inventory of all equipment and apparel for the football program and various other sports. Provide laundry services to athletic teams.

Provide support for specific athletic events, practices, games and recruiting visits.

Required Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Demonstrated ability to constantly lift, push, pull and carry items on a routine basis
• Demonstrated ability to walk up and down stairs, inclines and hills on a daily basis
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post high school classes, education, training.
• Athletics Student Manager experience.
• Knowledge of football and football practice operations.

Conditions of Employment:

•Ability to meet the requirements to take the AEMA certification exam within a year of employment.

•Daily work schedule may vary with working hours primarily mid-mornings to early evening. Occasional weekend hours may be required.

•Ability to maintain a valid drivers license and attend any required W&M van and/or safety training.

•All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year.

•This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

•This is a restricted position subject to availability of funding.
