Position Summary

Provides journeyman locksmith services. Assures all locking systems are operational and filing systems are up to date. Duty may include on call, standby.

Required Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Three (3) years experience in locksmith trade.

Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, test, diagnose and repair lock problems.

Ability to deal effectively with faculty, staff, and students.

Ability to interpret construction specifications and conduct research using vendor submittals.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to independently evaluate each task assigned and decides on replacement or repair of component parts. Majority of work is performed independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of CBORD access control systems.
Experience managing contractors in the installation, maintenance and
repair of electronic access control and mechanical lock systems and
components.

Conditions of Employment:

This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the University is officially closed and is subject to overtime. Incumbent will be required to participate in Facilities Management on-call program and have the ability to provide electronic access control support.

This is a restricted position subject to availability of funding.
