Position Summary

Provide primary oversight, training, and maintenance for confocal, scanning (SEM), and transmission microscopy (TEM). Provide expert assistance with protocol planning and execution for faculty and student research programs involving these technologies. Provide assistance and training for graduate and undergraduate students working with microscopy-based research projects.

Required Qualifications

- A Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent
– Several years of fulltime job experience primarily with electron microscopy (TEM & SEM).

Preferred Qualifications

- Masters of Science or Ph.D., or equivalent.
– More than five years on the job experience primarily with TEM, SEM, and confocal microscopy.
– Familiarity with an array of histology preparative techniques, including embedding and sectioning, for a variety of cells and tissues.
– Demonstrated laboratory management skills and some presentation/teaching experience on topics related to microscopy.

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
