Position Summary

Provides leadership, administration, and evaluation of academic advising, services, and programs for the undergraduate and one year masters’ programs. Manager of the Individual Program of Study (IPS) framework for current and prospective students. Primary liaison to the Mason School for academic course planning, projections and scheduling.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Business, or related field
• Experience and demonstrated effectiveness counseling students in academic and/or curricular matters in a university setting.
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply institutional rules and regulations at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
• Thorough understanding of the scheduling, registration and curricular planning processes.
• Experience in evaluation of student records and transfer credit.
• Must demonstrate the ability to embrace innovative and creative approaches, and utilize technology.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a diverse audience including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and business professionals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines; effectively handle complex situations; and achieve needed outcomes.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a service-oriented approach.
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to manage academic services for multiple degree programs simultaneously (Undergraduate and One Year Masters’ Programs).
• Knowledge of and competency in managing information systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing staff and students.
• Experience working with various academic affairs and student services areas.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner

This position may require additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include occasional evening and weekend work, and/or overnight travel, as needed to meet the business needs of the operation.
