Position Summary

The Assistant/Associate Director of Training provides key administrative responsibilities for the agency and functions as one of the back-up administrators to the Director. They provide leadership for the APA accredited Internship program in Health Service Psychology and the Advanced Practicum program. They work along with the Director, the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, and the Assistant Director of Research, Evaluation, and Outreach in setting agency policy, particularly as it relates to training and education of psychologists in training. They participate in the planning for the short-term and long-term needs of the unit and manage the daily activities of trainee personnel. They are a member of the leadership team to coordinate the agency operations along with the Director, The Assistant Director of Clinical Services, the Assistant Director of Research, Evaluation, and Outreach, and the Office Manager.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate in psychology from an APA accredited program
• Licensed or eligible for immediate licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• At least 5 years previous Counseling Center experience
• Success working with diverse populations
• Success working with a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated ethical decision making skills
• Clinical supervisory experience and previous experience being part of a supervisory team
• Previous experience with electronic medical records and other technology-based platforms
• Employment contingent upon the results of a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in personnel management and/or training management
• Previous Training Director/Coordinator of Practicum Training
