Position Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, operation, and repair of all Campus HVAC systems and to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all systems as well as performs preventative maintenance on all systems.

Required Qualifications

Education and Licenses:

-High School Graduate or equivalent.
-Valid Driver’s license.


-Demonstrated work experience in commercial and residential HVAC systems construction or repair.
-Experience with the mechanical and electro-mechanical operation and repair characteristics of various kinds of HVAC equipment.
-Experience with the practices, methods, and materials commonly used in the repair and servicing of various types of commercial HVAC equipment.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Experience with the care and use of tools and equipment essential for the repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
-Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, peers and customers.
-Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
-Ability to work in confined spaces and from heights working from ladders and scaffolding.

Preferred Qualifications

-HVAC Journeyman License.
-Universal Refrigerant Certificate or the ability to obtain the certificate within 12 months.

Conditions of Employment:

Incumbent will be required to participate in the Facilities Management “On-Call” Program. This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the Department, will require reporting to work when the College is officially closed, and is subject to overtime as needed.
