Position Summary

The Executive Assistant supports the administrative operations within the Office of the Dean and provides administrative support to the Dean of the Faculty, the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Dean for Educational Policy, the Director of Administration & Finance, and the Communications Director. The Executive Assistant and Office Manager will coordinate and/or provide logistical support for the Office of the Dean of Faculty.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience supporting senior-level administrators in a higher education environment, including a track record of managing sensitive confidential information, excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on tact and cordiality, outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, punctuality and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies to resolve problems, respond on inquiries, obtain and disseminate information. This position must handle multiple responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy and minimum supervision; have demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and discretion; and a commitment to providing exemplary customer service. A demonstrated command of English grammar in verbal and written communication in styles and tones appropriate for the various constituencies that interact with the academic deans and directors is required. This position requires the ability to manage work with minimal supervision, and to anticipate events and respond appropriately. Proficiency in computer skills (MS Office products) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to independently and diplomatically prioritize meetings, events, and tasks based on Dean’s Office priorities; ability to gain a thorough understanding of the organizational structure of the College and Arts & Sciences and to appropriately apply that knowledge in responding to and forwarding inquiries from internal and external audiences; demonstrated administrative management experience; comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures; and excellent organizational skills.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
